What exactly is Muraqib?

A program for teachers that keeps marks, attendance, observations, support plans and reports for your classes in one place, and prints the documents you are asked for. It is made for the individual teacher, not as a school management system.

Is it a website?

No. It is a desktop app you install on Windows or Mac. It opens in its own window and works without an internet connection.

Does it work without internet?

Yes, everything you do in class works offline. The internet is used only to check for updates and, if you add Pro, to check the key. Pro works offline too, including the first time the key is added. When a pass ends, saved Pro documents stay open; new Pro documents and drafted lines beyond the free 5 students stop.

Where is my data stored?

In one database file in your user folder on your own computer. There is no Muraqib account or cloud copy. The Help menu shows the exact folder.

Does it support Arabic? Can I use it in English?

Both, fully. One click switches every screen between Arabic, right to left, and English. Every printable document can be printed in either language, and term comments can be written in either, whatever the app is set to.

Can I paste marks from Excel?

Yes. Copy one column of marks in Excel and paste it into the mark grid; it fills down from the student you pick, and blank lines keep everyone in the right row.

Can I import my student list?

Yes, from a CSV file, which Excel can save. Muraqib reads English or Arabic column headers and gives you a template. Excel files (.xlsx) have to be saved as CSV first.

What can I export?

Students and marks as CSV files, an Excel workbook for leadership with four sheets, a full backup file of everything, and any printed document as a PDF.

What reports can it create?

Free, the daily papers: the term report for the family, the attendance notice, blank mark sheets and registers, the class name list, the seating plan and the Excel file for leadership. Pro, the comment documents first: term summaries, the whole class's comments in one document with lines drafted from the records; the progress pack, a card per student; the student evidence card; the one-page executive summary; the detailed class report. Saved reports stay open and printable after Pro ends.

Can I print reports?

Yes, on A4. In the app every printable page also has Save as PDF.

Can I back up my data?

Yes. A copy each time the app opens (not if one was made in the last hour), one copy a day for the last 14 days you used it, all on this same computer. Keep a copy on a USB too: you can back up whenever you like, save a copy to a USB stick, or export everything to one file.

What happens if I change computers?

Export everything on the old computer, install Muraqib on the new one and restore that file. If you have Pro, remove the key on the old computer and add it on the new one.

Does my school need to install it?

Two things. Administrator rights: normally not needed. The installer offers to install Muraqib just for you. School-managed computers can have their own rules, so ask your IT team if the installer is blocked. School approval: Muraqib is for your own teaching, but ask your school before keeping a class in it. Practical guidance is on the privacy page.

Does it connect to my school's system?

No, it doesn't connect to any school system. It can copy an assessment's marks as one column to paste into the school marks site, and give your head of department an Excel file.

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. Each Mac type has its own download.

Why does Windows or Mac show a warning when I open it?

Windows warns about apps that are new and not yet widely downloaded, and Muraqib is not code-signed yet, so both systems show their standard warning. It can appear again for a new version. On Windows 11 with Smart App Control turned on, the app is blocked, and the only way to run it is to turn that setting off. The download page shows exactly what to click on Windows and on Mac.

How does Muraqib Pro work?

Muraqib is free to start and has no time limit. Muraqib Pro adds comment lines drafted for every student and five saved report types. Pro is a pass: a 30-day pass for AED 49.99, or a 12-month pass for AED 149.99. Paid once. No automatic renewal, nothing is charged again. A pass starts the day you buy it. Buy the 30-day pass in the week you write reports. The key is added in Settings and works on 2 computers. Each computer keeps its own records. Nothing syncs. Move records with a backup and restore.

What stays free?

Everything you record yourself, for good: students, marks, attendance, notes, seating, support plans, analytics, exports, backups, the family report, the attendance notice, the leadership Excel file and comment drafts for 5 students each term.

Will I receive updates?

Yes. The app checks for new versions and installs them when you agree. Updates are the same for Free and Pro.

How do I get support?

Email [email protected]. Inside the app, Settings also has a place to write down a suggestion.

Keep the teaching. Lose some of the admin.
